The Salsa Jack & Jill is a fun, high-energy social dance competition where dancers sign up individually — not as couples — and are randomly paired with different partners on the spot! 💃🕺
The focus is on connection, musicality, and improvisation, just like when you’re dancing at a social.
No choreography — just pure rhythm, creativity, and great vibes!
Sign up as a Leader or Follower Partners are assigned randomly — you won’t know who you’ll dance with until the draw is done! Dance to a surprise track selected by our DJ Multiple rounds – you will dance with different partners Judges evaluate each dancer individually based on timing, style, and connection The top dancers advance to the finals — and compete for amazing prizes!
All Salsa songs used will be pre-selected and available via the event’s Spotify playlists.
There are 2 categories and 2 levels
Categories: Salsa Line Style & Cuban Salsa
Levels:
AMATEUR dancers with a minimum 8-12 months of experience
RAISING STAR dancers with more than 2 years of experience
No teachers allowed in any of the categories above

All competitors will be judged individually. Male judges will judge the leaders. Female judges will judge the followers
✅Timing: Keep the beat steady and clean
✅Technique: Smooth execution and clear movement
✅Connection: Dancers’ ability to understand each other and have fun.
✅Musicality: Moving with the mood or sections of the music, plus hitting accents or breaks.
✅Partnering: Do the dancers show that they are engaged with each other and matching each other’s level?
✅The Attitude & Styling: Individual interpretation and self-expression on the dance floor.
Competitors may be disqualified for:
✅Performing lifts (at least one foot must stay on the floor)
✅Dancing dangerously or off-time
✅Being under the influence of drugs/alcohol
✅Inappropriate behaviour or language
All competitors must:
✅Pay the registration fee
✅Check in at the registration desk before competing
✅Wear their competition number at all times
✅Conduct themselves respectfully and professionally
✅Be ready to compete 15 minutes before the start
✅Participate only if the division has at least 4 couples
✅Enter only one division within the same category (one participant is allowed to compete in both categories.
